Karin is from Stockholm, Sweden, but has always travelled extensively making the world her playground. After having lived in Amsterdam and Dubai she is now residing in Manama, Bahrain.
She started her career as a management trainee for the Swedish State Railways (SJ) and later worked as a Marketing Communicator. Karin has been working for the language institute EF as an Accountant as well as for KPMG as a Finance Adviser. During the last seven years Karin has been with Business Sweden, The Swedish Trade & Invest Council in Dubai, UAE. Besides looking after the corporate clients she was also the business controller. Due to her positive attitude and her ability to connect with people, Karin has always been a valued team player.

Karin’s background working for the Swedish Trade Council in Dubai makes her familiar with the Swedish associated companies in the Middle East including GAC. Her International Business degree and her communication background provide her with unique skills to facilitate the Introduction to the GAC World (IGW) course. As a former Business Controller, Karin has also been responsible for everything from budgeting, accounting and result analysis, giving her expertise in facilitating the GAC Finance Essentials (GFE) course. In March 2017 she successfully completed the course MoodleBites for Teachers making her competent to administrate the GCA online course tool.
Karin has always been a very active and curious person who seeks to experience the outdoors and pursue sports, might it be running or swimming. Her goal is to do an Iron Man 70,3 in Bahrain (Swimming, Cycling, Running). Travelling to new places is also a big part of her life as she enjoys the company of new acquaintances and to learn about different cultures. The Middle East is an amazing place to live as it is well located for trips to Africa and Asia. Another of Karin’s dreams is to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.
